In order to be able to meet the demand of meeting with lots of governing bodies who have expressed an interest in finding out more about the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust, I am proposing to run four informal roadshow events early in the new academic year.  Myself, representatives from the DSAT Services team, and colleague headteachers, will be available between 5 and 8pm on the dates below.  We have deliberately chosen to do this on three occasions at different venues within the Diocese in order to help with distances.  This invitation is open to headteachers, senior leaders and governors.  Please forward this on to as many as you would like to.  You will appreciate that it is difficult to meet with every governing body individually although where there is a definite interest in joining us, we will happily make arrangements to visit and will work proactively with the Regional Schools Commissioner where due diligence suggests we should proceed.  Clearly, as with any organisational growth, we are looking to grown incrementally rather than exponentially in the coming years so it will not necessarily be the case that we will just be able to take everyone on board who wants to join.

These sessions will not be a hard sell in any way.  That is not the way we work.  There will be very little, if any formal presentation.  The emphasis will be on discussion and questions/answers.  They will be run in a drop-in fashion so there will be no need to stay for the complete time – you will probably only need an hour or so.  Just come along and find out about the academy option that we operate, how it can work flexibly to meet your needs, and how it provides a principled, values-based home for your Church of England school and maybe others in your network, in the current uncertain climate.  We are very interested in how we can work with clusters/pyramids of schools to provide a localised approach to academy development.  We are also open to non-church academies and I will be very pleased if you would like to pass this on to those in other maintained schools who you work closely with and you know will be interested.

Things in the world of academies are constantly moving forward and DSAT is no exception so please do look at our website to see how we are developing and changing.

I look forward to meeting you if you are able to join us – to help us with refreshments, please could you email Sandi Hammer to confirm your attendance
