RELATIONSHIPS, SEX AND HEALTH EDUCATION POLICY

Schools have received new guidance from government this year in respect of policies for relationships, sex and health education.  We have had a tried and tested policy in place for a number of years that has served our schools and children well.  However, we are obliged under new guidance to reconsider our existing policy, which we have now done.   Before this policy comes into place in September 2026, we are now sharing it with parents for their awareness, and for any comments.  We are aware that opinions will differ in relation to these matters and have great respect for that - the policy seeks to take account of that as best we can.  As always, we have sought to follow the guidance in a balanced way, that holds the interests of our children and families at heart.

If you have any questions, you may wish to speak with your child’s school in the first instance.  Your comments and questions are welcome by email to office@dsat.org.uk.

Please note that this policy will come into place from September, so any teaching this term will continue to be guided by the current policy.

Thank you for your support and co-operation.

This consultation will be open until Monday 15th June.
