Anthony has worked in education throughout his processional career, as a history teacher, Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher and Director of the largest state Sixth Form in the country (950 students). He has worked with school Governing Bodies for over thirty years. More recently he has been Chair of Governors of three church schools / academies including one in DSAT. In 2016 the Bishop of Salisbury awarded him the St Aldhelm’s Cross for his outstanding commitment to governance of a church academy in the Diocese. He has been asked by the Dorset LA to support Governing Bodies in difficulties and has been a Trustee of another Multi Academy Trust.

He continues to have a passionate interest in History and is Chair of the Mansel-Pleydell, Cecil and Drew Trust based at the Dorset County Museum. He has been a season ticket holder at Bath Rugby for over twenty years.
