ACADEMY GOVERNOR OPPORTUNITIES: Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust (DSAT)

We currently have a number of governance opportunities within schools in Dorset and Wiltshire. Might you have the experience and skills we need? Will you join us?

The role of an Academy Governor is immensely rewarding. Working together, the Academy Standards and Ethos Committee (ASEC) encourages and supports executive and school leaders, while holding them to account for the best possible experience and outcomes for all our children and staff. An ASEC is made up of parents, community and church members, as well as staff.

Professional experience is of interest but not essential. We seek people who:

    • can actively support the vision and values of the school
    • want to make a difference to children's education and outcomes
    • value teamwork
    • can support school leaders with strategic goals

Academy Governors operate through 6 committee meetings and 2 school monitoring visits per year; broadly 6 hours per month equivalent. They are also warmly encouraged to participate in school events and activities.

DSAT serves nearly 5,000 pupils in 28 primary schools across the Diocese, covering Dorset and Wiltshire. Through our values of love, hope and joy we aim to achieve our vision: 'Beyond expectations for all of God's children'.

We look forward to hearing from you. Please complete the Expression of Interest Form if you would like to have an initial conversation.
