Consultations
Nursery/Pre-school Consultations
We are currently consulting on proposals for the pre-schools based on the sites of Beaminster St Mary's, and St James' Gaunt's Common, to become integrated into the schools, rather than continuing to operate as separate entities. The documents below outline the process for each setting.
Alongside the documents, at this link, is an online form you can complete if you have any comments. Alternatively, you can email office@dsat.org.uk with ‘Pre-school consultation’ in the title, or respond in writing either to your school office or the Trust office.
Trustees will then consider any responses to the consultation before deciding on the way ahead.
Admissions Policy 2025-26 Consultation
Following the recent admissions policy consultation (2025-26) across the four new schools to the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust, there were seven responses, all from the Broad Chalke CE Primary School community. Six of these responses related to concerns about the catchment area boundary in line with the ecclesiastical boundary. We were able to resolve this issue promptly with Wiltshire Council, such that their mapping system now shows the correct boundary. We communicated this to Broad Chalke as soon as this was resolved and there were no further concerns expressed after this. One further response related to the oversubscription criteria (f) for children living outside the catchment area who meet the faith criterion. It is important to note that this is at the very bottom of the criteria – our schools are for the children of the community surrounding it. This criterion is almost never used. However, this line is consistent with the model policy provided by the diocese and used by the majority of church schools in the diocese. Our schools are fully inclusive and welcoming of children and families of all faiths and none. This policy has now been published on the Trust and school websites.
